Expertise

Having worked in travel for the past 12 years, focusing on exploration travel, and with first-hand experience and knowledge, I am an expert on the destinations we explore. I enjoy sharing stories and preparing guests for what to expect on an expedition. No question is silly when it comes to expedition travel!

Passion

Enabling people to venture into uncharted territories and reach the ends of the Earth sustainably fills me with immense joy. Having experienced a Secret Atlas voyage, I know guests will have a fantastic and authentic trip.

Habitat

On my narrowboat with my wife and my dog, a fire lit on a cold winter's day. By the water is always where I feel happiest, which is why I live on a boat.

Often our guests are stepping foot on land which has been untouched for hundreds of years. The team are a fun bunch of explorers themselves, which is key to delivering seamless expeditions.”

Questions & Answers

My most transformative travel experience

Playing football in Ittoqqortoormiit with the locals was a fascinating and unexpected experience on one of our East Greenland trips. Given the remoteness and harsh conditions of  Ittoqqortoormiit, it is to this day one of the best pitches I've played on. Greenlanders love football – it’s a great icebreaker to start up a conversation.

My exploration inspiration

Roald Amundsen. Not only the first person to reach the South Pole but also a crew member on the Belgica, the first ship to overwinter in Antarctica. Despite the hardships of the Belgica's ill-fated voyage, he had the determination to return to the harsh polar environment again and again.

My dream adventure

Papua New Guinea has always been high on my list. New cultures fascinate me, but this year South Africa is on the cards.
